Cloud inversion outlook
Most forecasts stop at cloud cover. WeatherDuck reads the temperature profile, wind, pressure and layer cloud through the night and dawn, then scores valleys across Britain on one four-band scale.
The 24-hour outlook is free and needs no account. Press the button to see Keswick as an example. Premium extends it to 48 hours and adds email alerts.
What WeatherDuck does
Most forecasts tell you what the weather is. WeatherDuck tells you which hours are worth going out in and how to prepare.
Wind, gusts, rain and cloud folded into one number for every hour, so the good window is obvious at a glance.
The only UK forecast that scores where valleys are likely to fill with cloud, through the night and dawn hours.
Stargazing darkness and moonlight, plus ground conditions from real rainfall stations and the gear to match.
The activity score
A day is rarely all good or all bad. WeatherDuck scores every hour from 0 to 10 — wind weighted hardest, then rain, then cloud — so you can see the three good hours hiding inside an average-looking day.
A typical Tuesday
ExampleSame day, same place — but a 5-point swing between 10am and 4pm. That gap is the whole point.
Also included
The hours after sunset, and the state of the ground when you get there.
Cloud, moonlight and genuinely useful darkness — plus the wider night-sky outlook before you commit to a late one.
Rainfall from real Environment Agency, SEPA and Natural Resources Wales stations near you, turned into a likely ground state — and what to wear.
